Texas Fudge Cake



Boil:
2 sticks butter or margarine
4 Tbls cocoa
1 cup water

Pour over:
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
½ tsp. salt

Add:
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 tsp. soda mixed with ½ cup milk

Bake in jelly roll pan 12 x 18, 20 minutes at 350 degrees
5 minutes before cake is done bring to boil:

1 stick butter
6 Tbls milk
4 Tbls cocoa
½ cup nuts
Pour over:
1 lb. powdered sugar. Mix.

Spread over hot cake.

Christmas Morning French Toast



Combine together:
4 eggs
¼ cup sugar
1 Tbls cinnamon
½ cup whipping cream
1 tsp vanilla

Dip both sides of thick sliced Texas Toast into batter.  Cook on a griddle on medium heat.

Buttermilk Syrup

Melt the following ingredients to liquid form:
1 cube butter
¾ cup sugar
½ cup buttermilk
Add:
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking
Stir quickly as syrup foams up

Great for any special morning.  Lucious!

Cinnamon Cream Syrup



1 cup sugar
½ cup light corn syrup
¼ cup water
½ tsp. cinnamon

In pan bring to boil, stirring constantly.  Cook two minutes.  Remove from heat and cool for 5 minutes.  Stir in ½ cup evaporated milk.  Serve warm on pancakes.

Breadsticks Grandma Clawson



Dissolve:
½ cup warm water
1 ½ Tbsp. yeast
1 Tbsp. sugar

¾ cup milk
1 ½ tsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 egg beaten
2 ½ cups flour

Butter mixture: 
1 cube melted butter
1 tsp. dill weed
pinch garlic salt

            Mix together milk, sugar, salt, egg, flour.  Add yeast mixture.  Let sit 30 minutes.  Mix down on floured board.  Let rest about 10-15 minutes.  Roll into 14” x 12” rectangle.  Cut 14 1” strips.  Fold in half, twist tight.  Place on baking sheet.  Brush with butter mixture and raise 1 hour.  Bake 350 degrees 20-30 minutes.  Brush again with remaining butter mixture and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. 

Cinnamon Rolls



Mix and rest for 15 minutes:
1 1/8  cup warm water
¼ cup sugar
1/3 cup oil
2 Tbsp. yeast (fast-acting, or if regular yeast, it will just take a little longer for the rolls to rise)

Add: 
1 tsp. salt
3 ½ cup flour
1 egg

            Knead and let rise 15-20 minutes.  Roll out to about ½ inch.  Spread butter over dough.  Spread cinnamon and sugar.  Add raisens if desired.  Roll up and cut with sharp knife.  Let dough rise in pans for about 10 minutes.  Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Spread with icing.

Nothing better than a fresh, hot cinnamon roll!

Zucchini Bread



3 eggs
1 cup oil
2 cups sugar
3 cups flour
1 t. soda
¼ tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. nutmeg
2 cups grated squash
3 tsp. vanilla
1 cup nuts
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. cloves

            Beat eggs until light.  Add oil, sugar, squash, vanilla.  Mix lightly but well.  Add flour, salt, soda, spices and baking powder.  Mix until blended.  Add nuts.  Bake in greased and floured pans for 1 hour at 350 degrees.  Makes 3 small or 2 regular loaf pans.
